Our home appliances are most meant to make our lives easier. The trade-off? Convenience calls for maintenance. It should be noted that even appliances with cleaning cycles must be cleaned routinely, especially in areas with hard water.

To maintain water flow and reduce odors in your garbage disposal, as well as eliminate food and grease build-up on blades try running the appliance after adding ice cubes and rock salt. Furthermore, orange or lemon peels are great at reducing grease.

Use white vinegar to perform routine cleanings on drip coffee makers; this will tackle mineral buildup, and coffee oil residue.
