Sunday Charity Event to Aid Orphans in India

KANSAS CITY, Mo. ? Julie Martin, founder & executive director of WECARE of India, and Sister Jessy Alex, director of the orphanage in India, joined Sunday?s edition of FOX 4 This Morning.

Founded in 2006 by Johnson County wife and mom, Julie Martin, WECARE of India is committed to fulfilling the basic needs of the suffering women and the neglected, orphaned children in the villages of Samayapuram, Alleppey, and beyond in the country of India.
WE CARE currently supports a girls` home in Pratheeksha that houses 50 young orphans.

WECARE is also raising funds expand into the village of Alleppey, where we plan to build a women`s training center for the local women to learn trade skills to help them out of poverty.

On Sunday evening, there is an event called ?Lights for Hope? Holiday Market and Tree Lighting? which will help the orphaned girls in India. Proceeds will go to help the orphanage. The charity event will be held at the Cedar Creek Clubhouse in Olathe, Kan.

Event details:
- OPEN TO THE PUBLIC (tickets $5/each or $20/ family online or at the door)
- buy a bulb to light the tree ($2 per bulb/ same as cost to support woman or child for the day bulb sales also available on website below.
